Parsing notes

Section titled “Parsing notes”

The adapter reads task ui_messages.json arrays and counts say: "api_req_started" entries. The nested JSON payload maps tokensIn, tokensOut, cacheReads, cacheWrites, and positive cost values into normalized usage. Cline writes the provider’s raw input count in tokensIn, so it maps straight to input tokens (unlike Roo Code and Kilo Code, whose cache-inclusive count is split). Model names are read from the sibling api_conversation_history.json file.
